Te reo Maori is the language spoken by the native population of New Zealand and one of the three official languages of that country. The first Maori translations of the Scriptures were made by British missionaries in the 19th century, mainly based on the King James version, which is one of the most authoritative English translations of the Bible. This BibleMax free module features the KJV translated into Maori. As with all modern versions of the KJV, this one does not include the Apocrypha, which are books not considered as canonical by Protestant churches. Also, being based on this old version, this translation is written in a somewhat old-fashioned style and may not be very suitable for modern Maori readers. Nevertheless, it is the most widely used version by English-speaking missionaries and clerics. Another advantage is that you can use all the KJV references included in the BibleMax core software needed to display this module. You can download this program for free at the developer's site, along with many other Bible versions, as well as read more commentaries and references.
